Message from Don Agent

As the holiday season of 2023 peeks around the corner, and the year is coming to a close, it is incredible for all of us here at Kegel to realize that our company has been in business for 40 years. I am also personally proud to have been with the organization for 27 of those years. Many people will say that success relies on having a great product or business model. There is obviously truth in that statement; however, I feel that our success is a result of thousands of loyal customers around the globe coupled with an incredible team of people here at Kegel.

I wonder if John Davis ever realized what his journey would have entailed had he not invented something as simple, and yet effective as the Kegel Lane Key cleaning tool way back in 1981. Such a simple device that had so much impact on lane maintenance was also the foundation of the Kegel company. Flash forward to 2023 and our company has designed and manufactured almost 2 dozen lane machines of various capabilities and uses. Combine that with over 10 different lane conditioners that are all characteristically different, we continue to try and improve the bowling experience for all involved.

Our bowling world as we know it continues to evolve and grow globally every year and we are all very fortunate to be involved in such a resilient and wonderful industry. Bowling has continued to not only survive but flourish in the most difficult times across the last 100 years. It has survived wars, prohibition, economic disasters, regulatory changes, and a pandemic. Yet we are still all here and for the most part doing well.

Lane maintenance is obviously a large part of the culture of Kegel, however many of us here just want to see bowling progressively grow so millions more can continue to enjoy what so many of us already have. Bowling is literally everywhere in the world and is enjoyed by all ages, cultures, and walks of life.

December was always one of the favorite times of year for the Davis family and still remains so within the Kegel family today. It was always a time for slowing down, reflecting on our past months of hard work, followed by gathering together on multiple occasions and enjoying the friendships that many of us here have built together over the decades. When I think of Kegel, I think of family first and lane maintenance second.
